Originally called the Rockford Scooter Company, the Rockford Motors Company's first import was a scooter called the Silver Pigeon from the Mitsubishi Corporation. In the sixties, the company received the exclusive rights to sell and market the Bridgestone lineup in America. Rockford Motors was the only US importer of their new line of scooters and motorcycles. After Bridgestone got out of the motorcycle business, Rockford Motors would continue to import other motorcycles and scooters until 1975.
