This isn't relevant to my review but is why I bought the shirt: my mom worked as a waitress at the Rennebohm's on the Madison Capitol square when she was 18; it's where she met my dad. The shirt is very soft and the logo isn't too big in comparison to the canvas.
Add a Rennebohm Cap for just $18 (Regularly $25)
Few names elicit a bigger reaction in Madison than Rennebohm’s. Oscar Rennebohm founded the iconic Madison drugstore chain in 1925 and there were eventually more than two dozen locations around the area before the chain was sold in 1980. Generations of Madisonians recall hearty breakfasts, leisurely lunches and the Friday night fish fry at “Rennie’s” beloved in-store restaurants.
52% combed and ring-spun cotton 48% polyester, preshrunk, 4.2 oz. Super soft with a fashion fit. See Sizing Chart for best fit size. See more about the tees we use.
I bought 2 of these and them to each of my 2 sons. Some of your other shirts are not 100% cotton. I wish you would make all of the designs in cotton.
great product. well made .
Great shirt. I have one because I worked there. It was really my first real job after paper route days. My mother went to High School with a Rennebohm family member, and she said that person would love one also, so I bought one for her!
My mother was in charge of the cosmetics counters for many years. I worked at Rennie's in the summer during college, moving from store to store helping when the " cigar counter managers" went on vacation. I remember my lunch of a strawberry dairy jumbo and a grilled cheese. I miss Maddie who worked at Store #1 as a cook!
I remember squeezing into that brown outfit, putting on pantyhose and a hair net, and the brownie sundays and malted milks. Along with all the customers.
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Eight of ten kids in my family worked for "Rennies"-the lucky one who gets the shirt is gonna make the rest VERY jealous.
My dad still calls Walgreens, "Rennebohm's" so this shirt was perfect! Can't wait to give it to him for Christmas.
I remember their old lunch counters.
That's correct, it was my very first job. I waitressed at the Hilldale Rennebohms. I will never forget my brown uniform/dress. And the Hot Fudge Mary Jane that was my reward when I finished my shift ~ I will wear it proudly. The shirt is well made and I am very pleased with my purchase. Also bought another one as a gift!
In 1969 a man came into Rennebohm's and said to me "from now on you are going to be my waitress." I was working the lunch counter at that time. We have been married for 43 years.
Loved Rennebohm's 40+ years ago, love this shirt today. Great idea and very happy with it.
Once upon a time, the Rennebohm logo was ubiquitous in Madison. Not only was it a drugstore, it also featured a great lunch counter/coffee shop which was a regular stop for our family. This fine quality t-shirt is going to be a spectactular Christmas gift, bringing back years of wonderful memories for one of my dear friends, who was a waitress at the lunch counter on the Square in her early days!
Love the shirt! The quality of the shirt itself is very good! I'm wearing it today for the first time to my exercise class. I'm sure it will get comments from the Silver Sneaker's people who grew up in Madison.
