Harzfeld's was founded in 1891 as the Parisian Cloak Company. The company moved to Main and Petticoat Lane in 1913 and the name was changed. Harzfeld's specialized in high-end women and children's apparel. They ceased operations in 1984.
Fun Fact: Harzfeld's commissioned a Thomas Hart Benton mural for the store in 1947. The mural is now in the Smithsonian Institute's American Art Museum in Washington, DC.
