Grossinger's, a resort once located in the Catskill Mountains, had been described as luxurious and state of the art. Founded in 1919, the resort had an airstrip, post office, indoor and outdoor pools, championship golf course and theater. They were the first to use artificial snow for their ski slopes. Grossinger's was an inspiration for the movie, Dirty Dancing. The property was sold in 1986 and left to deteriorate until the buildings were demolished in 2018.
