My Mom called him "Bobby Blue Star" for years. My dad supported a wife and 5 little girls while working many years for Blue Star potato chips. He loved the shirt so much, he wants to frame it, and not wear it. Thank you so much. I had no idea how much it would mean to him. If I could post the picture of him wearing it, while holding an old Blue Star tin, I would.
Rockford has a long history with great Potato Chips. Blue Star began in 1939 and sold thinly sliced chips that were “De-starched by scientific process, so no need to worry about the waistline!“ They remained in operation until 1977 when they sold their operations to Chicago-based Vitner’s.
52% combed and ring-spun cotton 48% polyester, preshrunk, 4.2 oz. Super soft with a fashion fit.
My Grandfather John Sachs started this company. Thanks for the memories! Love you Grandpa
Blue Star potato chips remind me of my grandmother. The shirt was right on. Brought back so many memories of delicious but unhealthy chips. Lard...yum The shirt is vividly colored and the images are clear and accurate. I am very satisfied.
